Are you planning on running the marathon or half at the National Capital Race weekend? The Frontrunners would like to invite you to share your long runs with us. Beginning 6 March, a group of us will meet an hour earlier to add some time and distance to our runs. We will head out at 8:00am from the Lisgar Street entrance to City Hall, 111 Lisgar at the intersection of Cartier, and circle back for 9:00am to run the rest with everyone else.
Ottawa Frontrunners invites women of all abilities to join us for a run or walk each first Saturday of the month, at 9am at the Lisgar Street entrance to City Hall, 111 Lisgar at the intersection of Cartier.
Speed work (only summer for speed work)
Thursday evenings are focused on speed training during the summer. The 2015 season has started and goes until the Canada Army Run (20 September). We will meet at the regular spot (City Hall entrance) and we will warm up by running to Parliament Hill or the track at Immaculata High School (depending on weather and conditions). There, we will practice some speed drills and then cool down by running back to City Hall. All levels of runners are welcome! Bring a stopwatch or a watch with a second hand if you have one.
Second Saturday of the month runs on 13 May, 10 June, 8 July, 12 August, 9 September, and 14 October 2017, will start on the Gatineau side at 9:30 am. Two cars will meet at City Hall at 9:00 am and leave promptly at 9:10 am. The starting and finishing points will be at the parking lot near Théâtre de l’Île (1 rue Wellington, Gatineau). There is plenty of parking available in the nearby streets. Breakfast will be at La Jardiniere (Crowne Plaza Gatineau–Ottawa; 2 rue Montcalm) around 10:30 am.
